Can you notice the slight change in the hairstyle? :) Ayatsuki is now wearing pink tegarami (cloth) in her hairstyle, a sign that she is moving up in the ranks!
Miyajimacho’s annual Baikasai (plum blossom festival) starts at 11PM CET on Sunday, 23rd of February. Baikasai is an open tea ceremony where geiko and maiko prepare and serve tea using a traditional tea ceremony fashion. Anyone is free to join and observe the ceremony!Room link:
(the photos posted are from previous three Baikasai ceremonies)
Maiko Ayana from our okiya is currently wearing sakkou hairstyle. Sakkou is the final hairstyle worn by maiko before she graduates into a geiko (a full fledged performer).
February 2nd was the misedashi of Ayatsuki’s imouto, maiko Ayachika. Misedashi is a formal debut where the new maiko is introduced to other okiya and ochaya in the hanamachi, asking for their support in her future career. As you can see, misedashi is one of the most formal events, requesting formal black and gold outfits and antique tortoisheshell kanzashi to be worn.

Ayanigu’s most senior maiko Ayana is also now wearing Oshiyun, meaning that soon she will turn her collar and become a geiko!
